TLDR
Participation flow, live interaction, ownership, and event policy for Cafe Samantha.
How it works
- Every individual who wants to attend must show up to share and facilitate connections.
- Before participating, each person first states in Samantha community what they want accomplished, including their focus, goals, and what kinds of connections or help they want.
- Other attendees also publish their own wishes and goals.
- These should live in public notes and should be clearly stated for useful output.
Live interaction layer
- Users can make live tags across each other’s public notes.
- These tags can reflect resonance, shared interests, collaboration potential, intro requests, or relevant alignment.
- We also show our thinking process through shared chats. That sparks other collaborations, encourages others to create their own lines of thought, and then leads to publishing more public notes.
Ownership model
- All of this should be added into each person’s own notes and chats in their own space.
- It should not all live in one shared centralized locale.
- That prevents note content from becoming easily commoditized.
- Even if individuals host note collections on their own site, the brand value stays partly with them rather than being ceded entirely to Samantha.
- Samantha should be the connector, not the content owner.
Membership and event policy
- Cafe Samantha participation should require a Samantha subscription.
- The event is announced, and people get 7 days before the event to sign up.
- If they are going to show up for the event, online or offline, they need to keep their subscription active.
- If they do not show up, it is fine for them to drop the subscription, but they lose access to that round of the Samantha community.
- They may try again only once per quarter.
- Cafe Samantha is not free-floating community access. It is earned through showing up.
- If someone skips a round, they can apply again next quarter.
